From the moment prospective purchasers come through the door, you want them to be impressed. The first impression can influence the price of your property, sometimes by thousands of dollars. The first impression must be positive when a buyer visits your property. A property that "presents well sells well".

In preparing your home for the market, the aim is to spend as little money as possible to enhance its appeal.

An excellent test is to go outside, close your eyes and say to yourself... "I'm a buyer seeing this property for the first time! ". Go right through the property and look at it as a potential buyer would.

The careful placement of pot plants around the entrance can lend a touch of colour and make your home feel more welcoming. Best of all you can take them with you when you go.

This is very easy and very inexpensive. Keep your lawns mown regularly and make sure the lawn edging is straight and crisp.

Think about Security

Store away any valuables such as jewellery, money, keys etc. Remember that prospective buyers may look in drawers and cupboards.

Pets should be kept well out of the way during inspections and open homes.
